As anyone who visits this forum will know, I'm always on the lookout for programs which can work in a complementary way with Artoonix. Many do but the majority either don't add much or they're tricky to synchronise and results can end up looking stilted or without much pace.

This has lead me towards looking around to see if there is a commercial animation program that I can afford which will offer me the particular elements and functions that I need and am tired of trying to 'patch' by using complementary programs.

All of the above led me to a site where I found a huge gallery of examples. I then looked on Youtube to see if my two favourites were uploaded there as well --- so here are the links. I really like the style and as they use mostly the cutout style, it's something that would be next-to-impossible to do with Artoonix ....

UPDATE - I've been able to acquire a copy of the program that was used to make these two animations (well, it's the release that came out just before the latest version, so cost wasn't as much of an issue that I was expecting it to be).

Several things are immediately obvious ---

(1) The program is immensely powerful and can be used for just about every style of 2D animation that you care to name. These can also be integrated so you can use rotoscoping, cut-out and drawn animation in the same project ..... eventually!!! Now see comment (2)
(2) The learning curve is going to be VERY steep - and I DO mean 'steep'. But at least I won't have to get to grips with the complexities of 3d modelling. That's never been of much interest to me.
(3) Fortunately, using a free Youtube video grabber, I've been able to locate and download a load of useful user-made tutorials apart from those that come with the program.

So all I need now is about a month of sustained effort ..... meanwhile, I'll 'relax' by using Artoonix to make a few more of those music video tributes that I've started to upload on Youtube.

I figured as much - a clever bit of spam, but not quite on the mark.
Feel free to delete everything after my original post.
