Here's a question that probably won't be of relevance to many Artoonixers, but if there's an answer, it would be handy to know .....

Is there an actual or theoretical limit to the size of a project file that Artoonix can handle?

My main uses for the program are as an image manipulator (sizes doesn't seem to be an issue here even when working with large image files), or as a vehicle for editing, enhancing and generally editing imported movie files. That's the area in which size may well matter.

My current project runs to a project file of 2,357,942kb and I'd like to now if I'm reaching a specific limit that's inherent to Artoonix or whether it's just that my computer is close to telling me to go away and do something less demanding.

The theoretical limit exists - 2 to the power of 64 bytes, but it is a huge number, so it can not be achieved in practice. As an example, I have several project files that are larger than 15 GB.

15gb ??
Wowsers - my current fileseize of 2.8gb seems tiny in comparison. I did suspect that it was my ageing computer that was the issue, but it's good to know Artoonix can handle so much more.

Your answer does beg one question though .... where you use or post your own projects. They must be massive AND impressive.

As for me, I think I'll stay down here in the substrata of sub double-digit gigabyte projects. That and using Artoonix as a very effective image manipulator.

Thanks for all your recent help with that problem - Happy Christmas to you and the Artoonix team.

Most of my projects focus on testing Artoonix in different modes. So, the big project file I created by importing from a video. Often, if I need to do something simple with an image, I use Artoonix. Kids like to draw two or three pictures and see how they change each other. :)

Thanks, KayNine, Happy Christmas to you too, and to all who reads this.
