As a past user of the original 'Tales Animator' v2 and then v.3 Beta, I sometimes combined its output with Artoonix. The program then disappeared along with its developer but recently both have resurfaced.

The unfinished v.3 Beta is now a finished project (Tales Animator 3.01). The developer (Andrey) was kind enough to email me to say that some of my tribute videos uploaded to Youtube helped him decide to finish the project. It can now be found here -

Andrey (NOT the same Andrei who is developing Artoonix) is currently working on a re-written version of TA called 'Web Cartoon Maker' (WCM). At the moment this can only be used online and it helps if you have a knowledge of the programming language C++. This version will be more flexible and instead of using bmp images, it works with the svg format which will make the program much more flexible. Andrey plans to eventually release it as a standalone program but that will not be free.

So - if you remember and miss the original Tales Animator, you can now download the finished project at the URL shown above. You will also find a link to WCM there.

TA3.01 is entirely free.

These were the Artoonix-made tributes which helped Andrey decide to finish TA ...

UPDATE ---------------------------->>>

Web Cartoon Maker (the animation program currently under development which is the planned successor to Tales Animator) is now being developed as both an online (free) and standalone (shareware) program. For the moment, the beta version of the standalone version is available for download. At present, any projects still have to be compiled online (free).

It is important to note that WCM uses a derivative of the programming language C++ so takes a while to learn. Nevertheless, this is an interesting project to keep an eye on.

Examples of code currently given on the website (together with a demo) looks like this ...

Boy Max;
Max.SetVisible ();
Max.LeftArm.ChangeAngle ( 45, 2 ); // it takes 2 seconds to raise an arm by 45 degrees

Or if you need to make your character walk this is just one more line of code:

Max.GoesTo ( -100, 0, 4 ); // it takes 4 seconds to go to a point with coordinates ( 100, 0 )

Anyone familiar with Tales animator v.2 or v.3 will be able to see the similarity in coding language.

I've just uploaded a demo of the newly updated and re-released Tales Animator. (The demo was put together inside Artoonix - so you get both programs for the price of one with this upload!)
