I've recently discovered that large numbers of my Artoonix animations which were uploaded into Youtube (and tagged as having NO permission to be embedded elsewhere) have started to appear on other websites --- notably Dailymotion.

This suggests to me that somewhere there needs to be a bit of advice about having the courtesy to first contact users to ask their permission to distribute their work in this way.

Fair enough when an upload is not tagged as described, but when the uploader has made it clear that permission for embedding is not being given .... well ..... ???

My own solution, in both this forum and on Youtube, is to describe something that seems worthy of seeing and to provide a link to it.

I've raised a query with Dailymotion about this discovery and will soon be doing the same with Youtube.

In the meantime, my other solution is equally obvious - no more uploads at all anywhere except on a 1:1 basis to friends.
