Anyone who has glanced at some of my posts into this forum, or read some of the info notes for my Youtube uploads, will know that I have often mentioned LOCKABLE PIVOTS and BONES as an essential way to keep elements and bodyparts firmly attached during tweening.

I have just uploaded to Youtube a cross between a demo and a tutorial which hopefully provides a very basic explanation of what pivots and bones are, and also demonstrates how they can work within 6 different animation programs.

In the near future, I hope to put together a mini-tutorial which will show how the lockable pivot system works in one particular free program. I won't announce that here, though, because unlike the 'Pivots and Bones' upload, Artoonix will not be featured.

--------------------------- Update August 4th -----------------------

I have found that Artoonix is PERFECT as a means to create tutorials which involve the use of images, text and imported animation files. I have now completed the mini-tutorial that I mentioned above and although the animated sequences and screenshots are for another program, the whole tutorial was assembled and edited in Artoonix. I also used it as an image editor to create and edit the bodypart shapes for several of the characters that I used in the tutorial. (Each one needed 14 bodyparts and 13 pivots).

In fact, I find that I am now using Artoonix for this character-making process more and more, and am then importing the results into programs where I can use multiple and/or lockable pivots. Artoonix is ideal for slicing up images into layers which can then be exported as jpg or bmp files.

I won't post the URL for the new mini-tutorial here, but it can easily be found in my Youtube Gallery.
